At dad’s request – we made an effort to gather the entire family for Chinese New Year’s Eve Dinner. Dad’s request was made very last minute despite all his children checking in earlier within the month to see if we were going to gather for the annual tradition.
This year that happened to take place on the eve of Thursday January 30th, 2014.
Below are pics from our feast 🙂
BBQ Combination Platter (with Cold Jellyfish Salad)
Fried Pork loin with Chef’s Sauce
Double Lobsters With Ginger & Green Onion Sauce
Shrimp, Octopus, Candied Walnuts On Broccoli

Happy New Year! Everything looks delicious. We had hot pot at home to celebrate but I’ll probably take the parents out for Chinese Lantern Festival/Valentine’s Day this weekend.

Hot pot isn’t something we’ve done in eons. We’ve only had it out at a restaurant as we can never get the burner to heat up the broth/stock hot enough at home. Maybe that’s something we can do after the baby’s born – thanks for the reminder 🙂

uhh. I don’t think you should have hot pot after the baby is born though. I mean later okay. but not immediately. You need to be drinking/eating that red vinegar/egg/pig’s foot/ginger concoction.

Ugh – I’m alright with the pickled eggs but the rest…I’ll pass. I know this will be a battle to be dealt with later on though with dad.
